UT student convicted in woman’s mutilation death

AUSTIN - A jury on Monday convicted a former University of Texas
student of murder in the shooting and mutilation death of a
21-year-old woman.
The body of Jennifer Cave was found in a bathtub with her head and
hands cut off.
Colton Pitonyak, 24, testified he didn’t remember killing Cave, but
that it must have been unintentional.
Prosecutors have portrayed the defendant as a drug-dealing junkie.
Pitonyak told the jury that he was under the influence of drugs and
alcohol the night Cave died in August 2005, but conceded that nobody
else could have done it.
However, the defendant said that he and Cave were close friends and
that he doesn’t believe he would have killed her on purpose.
Umm, she slipped and fell neck first on my hacksaw 132 times…..
With credit to George Carlin, everyone with a drivers license will be issued a dart gun and 10 rubber darts. Someone does something stupid in traffic, you shoot their car. Police can simply pull over anyone with more than 3 darts on their car for being an idiot.
Car gas tank caps will always be located on the drivers side——Because there’s ALWAYS someone driving the car….
All cars in Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire must be outfitted with huge dual airbags—because a Moose is a big damn animal to hit…
Cell phones in cars will be hands free, will only work when the car is stopped or driving within +/-5 mph of the posted speed limit, and the phone number must be the same as the license plate——Because you should be able to call someone and tell them they’re driving like an idiot….
All highways nationwide will have the same 75 mph speed limit——because it’s annoying as hell, and expensive, to suddenly find yourself doing 75 in a 55.
The police will be required to write at least as many tickets for people driving too SLOW as they do for people driving too fast——Because slow people are almost as dangerous and far more annoying.
No more small town speed traps or unmarked police cars—Because that’s simply not fair. But GOOD creative hiding places for police cars WILL be allowed——Because that’s simply good sportsmanship.
Turn signals in ALL cars will automatically go off after 60 seconds.
Anyone caught driving a $75,000 sports car below the legal speed limit will have the car taken away and given to someone who knows how to drive it.
All hotel pillows will be required to be fluffly and comfortable, no more than one year old, and each bed will be required to have a minimum of four pillows for guests to use at their discretion.
All hotel showers must be high pressure, adjustable, with plenty of hot water, or the night is free.
All hotel door card key systems will work the same way.
There will always be a working light switch right next to the door, fresh batteries in the tv remote, and at least one FREE bottle of water in the room. And if you hide the remote, I get to keep the tv.
All telephone voice mail systems will operate the same way with the same access code structures.
1 will always start recording immediately.
2 will always save your message
3 will always delete the message
0 will always get you out of voicemail to the operator
It’s insane that Verizon voicemail in my office and on my cellphone use different sets of command codes.
It’s insane that ANY company would use a complicated voicemail system where O doesn’t get you out to the operator.
What a beautiful thing it was to watch. The boys finally put it all together.
Amazed we were abled to run the ball down their throats.
Amazed that we were able to shut down their offense.

Amazed that the missed extra point didn’t bite us in the butt.
Amazed that our inability to get ONE first down after the interception didn’t bite us in the butt (again)
Feels like 1984 all over again. Time to get the Aggie train rolling….
• Surprised that Miami pulled it together to knock off BC
• A big “you’re welcome” to Oklahoma. Hopefully the last favor we do for you for years to come.
• Surprised that Arkansas didn’t and lost to LSU.
• Which really screws Florida, who needed a highly ranked ARK team in the SEC championship.
I think Florida deserves a shot at Ohio State more than USC, but I also think it’s a moot argument since USC is going to ROLL a mediocre overrated Notre Dame team and get the slot anyways….
Wow.Where to begin. heartbreaking loss to the Huskers. A game we should have won.
But a great weekend back in Aggieland with college friends.

Much grumbling on student side among alums sitting around. Politically it ain’t playing well.

Heartbreaking and demoralizing loss at the very end (again)
Interpretations:
We have very solid game coaches who make excellent adjustments.
We have enough talent to *compete* with almost anyone.
We do NOT have enough talent or difference makers to give us the depth to put teams away or shut them down.
But we are so very close. SO very close.
Changing coaches is NOT the answer.
Unfortunately a little more time is.
But next years schedule is brutal:
At Miami, At Tech, At Oklahoma, At Nebraska.
We’re going to have to continue to improve just to post another 8-4 next year.
Random thoughts:
Vast majority of players highlighted on Aggietron are sophomores, and others are more likely freshmen than juniors. Wow we are young. Wow are the youngun’s good.
Glad that Harrington isn’t a senior.
Wondering if McGee is hurt, cause his misses were B-A-D.
But then the next throw would be really solid.
Wondering if we didn’t use the Train cause he’s hurt.
But then why use him as a lead blocker???
Or have him throw the halfback pass?
If he’s not hurt, did we not run him because we didn’t have any holes in the line? We didn’t run him enough to really find out, with only 6 carries….
Why not let him wear THEM out?
VERY weird play calling in my book, and not popular with the natives.
And wondering why we keep playing to set up FGs rather than ignoring FGs and playing for first downs to bury an opponent…..Lloyd Carr-esque…..
Was fun to sit first deck on student side again. Bathrooms still smell the same….
Was fun to drink at Fox and Hound (the old Interurban for the oldtimers) and watch everyone in the room, Husker and Aggie, come together to root for the tsips to go down…..
Was rough to hear the cute young thing at the Chicken ask the back door bouncer why he didn’t card us,
and have him say “Cause they’re old”
Was nice to drink that long and hang out shooting pool with friends and spend like $30 instead of $100. College towns rule.
Was really rough to wake up Sat am after BBQ and several Shiners for dinner, then several more Bocks at the Chicken, then a quick slice of pizza at new northgate place as we wandered to midnight yell practice, then of course the mandatory run to Whataburger at 2 am…..
I’m too old to do that anymore.
Or at least to do it again Sat night. Which we tried to do anyways…. Ouch.
Was really really rough to realize the hot young thing at Fox and Hound who was flirting with us to improve her tip wasn’t even BORN when we enrolled at A&M….
Getting old sucks. Especially when we lose by one damn point (again) …
Really nice game by our Aggies. vs Missouri, who came in on a roll.

Anyone else think its interesting that Oregon totally dominated UCLA all game, but gave up 14 4th quarter points to win by only 10pts 30-20. The spread you ask?? 10.5….Glad I had the UCLAs

How come Texas Tech always has to suspend a player for academic or disciplinary reason AFTER they play A&M but always seem to have a full roster for our game? Irritating to watch a guy who kills us flunk out 2 weeks later. At least this week’s suspension wasn’t the guy who caught the game winner vs us like a few years ago….

think about what it’s doing to air traffic at NYC JFK. Let me give you a hint.
Arrived around 730 pm after circling overhead for 45 minutes waiting for landing slot.
Then watched the entire NY Giants vs Chicago Bears game in the sports bar at JFK.
Then two full episodes of West Wing on my laptop until the battery juice ran out.
Then I read for a while. Several chapters.
Then we boarded the plane for Burlington at 1:20 am to get the plane to BTC for the next morning outbound
Then they juggled crew members to find someone “legal” to fly us to BTV since the delay was so long.
Wheels up from JFK at 2:15ish am, arrived BTV around 3:15, home at 4am….Ouch.
So last week I’m on a trip. Multiple flights thru multilple cities. So I have multiple boarding passes. Boston to New York, New York to Nashville, Nashville to O’Hare. So as I’m in BOSTON Logan working my way thru security, I accidentally put the New York to Nashville boarding pass in my passport instead of Boston to New York. I went thru THREE different TSA screeners, all of whom looked at my boarding pass and passport and NOT ONE noticed the fact I didn’t have a BOSTON boarding pass. Nice. Apparently ANY boarding pass is fine….
So then I’m coming back to Burlington from NY JFK. Security tight, can’t bring more than 3 ounces of toothpaste etc etc. The woman in front of me in the boarding line is a chef from Montreal. She has two oval shaped CALPHALON SKILLETS in her carry on. Nah, a nine inch anodized metal (I looked it up) skillet with a long stainless steel handle certainly couldn’t be used as a WEAPON. Unless you’re a housewife chasing your husband around I guess….
